The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette is delighted to offer a hands-on Papermaking Workshop at Twinrocker in Brookston. Participants will be lead through the basics of hand papermaking by Travis Becker, master papermaker and owner of Twinrocker, with Kathryn and Howard Clark. You'll learn about pulp preparation, the chemistry of papermaking (how plants turn into paper), along with how to color pulp and form sheets of paper at the vat. Participants will also use colored pulps to create their own artworks, applying artistic techniques such as pulp painting, embedding objects, and shaped paper. Each participant will be able to make several decorated sheets or complete art works 8 ½" x 11" and take them home at the end of the day.
