This course runs daily from 0900-1700.
The TRICOM modules (TRI-ANGLE COMBATIVES) are the result of 15 years experience and evolution teaching police and military Defensive Tactics and Combatives programs around the world. Based on tactics of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali and supplemented with various striking and grappling disciplines, the TRICOM modules have been taught to Special Operations and Instructors from police and military units across North & South America, Asia and Europe. This three day course is divided into two parts: Days 1-2 are Operator level certifications, and either day can be attended individually or together. Day 3 is an Instructor Certification with days 1-2 as a prerequisite.
The goal of this course is not to avoid "martial arts" techniques, but to analyze what martial artists have learned from centuries of trial and error, and hand pick the techniques, tactics and procedures that have the highest probability of success for the average law enforcement officer or soldier who is often neither a martial artist, nor has the opportunity to train on a regular basis.
The instructor for this course, Jared Wihongi, is a full-time Close Quarters Combat Instructor. He regularly teaches police and military personnel in several countries around the world, primarily in the Special Operations community. A student of multiple martial arts and combatives systems, he specializes in the blade based combat arts of the Philippines. He has 17 years experience in law enforcement (both full time and Reserve), 14 of which has been working on SWAT Teams and as a use-of-force instructor.
