TRE FOR CHILDREN WORKSHOP for TRE therapists and trainees

Dr Salmon is a medical doctor and a Level 3 TRE trainer in South Africa. She spent three years working with David Berceli spreading TRE training throughout south Africa in 5 provinces. There are now over 800 certified TRE practitioners and 14 Level 3 TRE Trainers in South Africa, with a further 6 being mentored.
Dr Salmon has also worked with marginalized township communities. She has done ground-breaking innovative work by introducing TRE to hundreds of traumatized children and youth between 2012 and 2014. She has trained staff of NGOs as TRE facilitators through adapted TRE training programs, to assist her taking TRE out to these communities.
During this work she has been supported by David Berceli and the TRE Foundation scientists in the USA, to gather research data and have it analyzed. The three major outcomes based research projects were
*Childrens SOS village in Cape Town 2013( 120 children, 23 staff)
* Chrysalis Academy for youth 2012( 152 girls aged 17-24, 15 staff)
* Cape Flats Primary school children (60 over 2 years)
The aim of the two day intensive weekend is to share the insights and lessons learned from working with children on these research projects and provide guidelines to how to work with different group:
* working with small children
* developmental trauma
* childhood PTSD .... the medical update
* working with youth
* special traumas (sexual abuse and rape: issues of shame)
* ethics and minors
Dr Salmon will also share “Diseases of the Freeze”…. medical illnesses and syndromes that results from decades of having a dysfunctional autonomic nervous system. These medical problems are amenable to TRE which balance and recalibrate the
autonomic nervous system. We know that childhood trauma, untreated, often appears 30 years later as fybromylagia and related inflammatory conditions.
