About the Events

TRE Introductory Workshop: Anxiety Is Really Strange - Managing Anixety with TRE

Date: Mon-Tues 23-24 Jul 2018, 9.30-5.30pm

Tutor: Steve Haines

Venue: Columbia Hotel, 95-99 Lancaster Gate, London, W2 3NS

Learn how anxiety works. Learn how to feel and how to use TRE to be more connected to sensations of safety and ease inside you. Steve Haines - author of the comic Anxiety Is Really Strange - will look at the science of anxiety disorders and how emotions are made. By safely connecting to the body, and learning to manage intense feelings, we can turn off protective reflexes of speeding up to survive.

The workshop is open to all - experienced shakers, TRE students and people new to TRE.

Praise for Anxiety Is Really Strange

‘Haines pulls together an accessible and friendly narrative with fantastic high-level academic footnotes. He takes us past some body-brain-mind confusion to provide understanding of the working of anxiety in the person.’

-Dr David O’Flynn, Consultant Psychiatrist, South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

‘For many of us, anxiety and fear are daily visitors to the mind and body – in this brilliant book, Steve Haines gives us freeing tools to unmask these feelings… what he offers is apparently simple yet full of depth.’

-Johnathan Sattin, Managing Director, Triyoga
