A Tapestry of Being Online Primer
Today there is an endless variety of teachings, techniques, and practices that are available for us to transform ourselves and live happier and more fulfilled lives. While this is great, it can also be confusing. On what basis do we know how to choose what serves us? And without a unifying center how does it all hang together?
The Tapestry of Being orientation shows a way of looking at life from a perspective of radical subjectivity. It is for people who acknowledge and value the ancient traditions of spirituality that have come before us but do not find that they can easily give themselves over to one worldview or paradigm altogether. We want to walk our unusual path, but we also want to make sure we are going somewhere worthwhile.
Spiritual awakening is just the start of a road that no one before you has walked. We do not need another program, but rather, an orienting perspective to make it clear how our different states are related and flow into each other so that we can choose for ourselves.
Wherever I've introduced this orientation, people quickly understood in a new way, why the practices that naturally drew them were serving their overall spiritual life.
It became a validation of their unique spiritual unfolding, and a means to understand what they could do to deepen their experience and confidence in their inner guidance.
Here are four good reasons to look into the Tapestry of Being perspective:
1) Expansion: there's a full spectrum of being potentially available for us in our human life, and this orientation will give you a taste of what is possible to grow into, even if you have already significantly awakened. There may be more to your awakened life than you even realize concerning untapped powers and capacities that make you an effective agent bringing a fuller sense of beingness to the world.
2) Deepening: you'll have visualizations and meditations that help intensify some of these dimensions, and get ideas of how to go further if you want to. So you can have a sense of what aspects of life are calling you to develop, bringing forth life in accord with your inner template. In this way, your actions come from your natural being. Your actions are in harmony with the whole while living from creativity.
3) Perspective: there is SO MUCH spiritual stuff 'out there' that can seem contradictory and confusing, this model helps you conceptually organize these perspectives into a meaningful relationship to each other, and your practices. In this way, you have confidence that comes from knowing you are fulfilling your what you are here to do.
4) Understanding: this orientation can help you get a sense of how your direct, immediate experiences fit into the spectrum of Being, gives your diverse spiritual experiences a context, and how you might be similar or different to other people. You are both at home and one of a kind.
