Presenters
Rev. Dr Jobst Schöne
Born in 1931 in Naumburg, Germany, Jobst Schöne received his theological education in the universities of Tübingen and Münster, from SELK’s seminary at Oberursel, and from Concordia Seminary St. Louis, USA. In 1968 he earned his doctor’s degree in systematic theology under Dr Enst Kinder with a dissertation on “Kirche und Kirchenregiment [Church and Church Governance]”. In 1978 Concordia Fort Wayne, USA, presented him with a DD degree. Schöne started out as parish pastor of St Mary’s Lutheran Church in Berlin, Germany, (1962-85), and served as bishop of the Independent Evang.-Luth. Church (SELK) in Hannover (1985-96). Since retirement, he has lectured frequently in Latvia, Estonia, South Africa, and the USA, and continued writing and publishing.
Rev. Fredrik Sidenvall
Born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1962, Fredrik Sidenvall went to high school in Uppsala and studied theology and classical languages at the Royal University of Uppsala. Ordained for the Diocese of Gothenburg of the Church of Sweden 1985, he served various parishes and military regiments. Since 2007 he has been Headmaster of the Lutheran High School of Gothenburg (nL M Engströms Gymnasium) and has founded a branch in Stockholm (Johan Movingers Gymnasium). He is editor of the weekly confessional magazine Kyrka och Folk (Church and Nation) and a contributor to Logia. Co-founder of the North European Luther Academy. Fredrik Sidenvall is married to Anna since 1984. They are parents of six children and grandparents of nine grandchildren.
Rev. Dr John R. Stephenson
A native of Hartlepool in the northeast of England, John Stephenson studied at the Universities of Oxford (MA) and Durham (PhD), and entered the ministerium of the Lutheran Church through colloquy at Concordia, Ft. Wayne. After serving a parish in Lewiston, NY (1986-89), he has been a professor of historical theology at CLTS for twenty-eight years. His wife Bonnie serves as an administrative deaconess at the seminary. They have three daughters and five grandchildren.
Rev. Dr James E. Keller
A native of Dashwood, Ontario, James Keller trained as a pharmacist at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, ON, before changing paths and preparing for the pastoral ministry at CLTS. He served as pastor of St Peter’s Ev. Luth. Church, New Hamburg, ON (1999-2006), and as Director of Christ Academy North and an instructor at CLTS (2006-12). He earned his PhD at McMaster University, Hamilton, ON. He currently is Executive Director of Lutheran Bible Translators of Canada (2012- ). He is married, with one daughter.
