So, you are looking forward to summer. The warmer weather, the longer days and the end of those stressful exams. It will be time to relax and enjoy yourselves.
Sutton District is sending a contingent of Explorer Scouts and Young Leaders to the Gilwell 24 weekend. This is the national weekend where 14 to 17 year olds from all over the UK come to the premier scouting camp site to meet up and have some fun.
We will be leaving by coach at around 6pm on the Friday (meeting place to be anounced closer to the date). When we get to the site we will set up camp and then you will be able to explore the camp and enjoy the preliminary entertainment that is layed on.
The main event starts in the main arena on Saturday at 9am and will last for a full 24 hours. You will be able to enjoy entertainment such as fair ground rides, high ropes, rock climbing, water sports, driving, fishing, crafts and so much more. 24 hours may not be enough time.
The event closes at 9am on the Sunday back at the main arena. Hopefully you have lasted the full 24 hours. You should have just enough energy to pack up and climb back on the coach before the journey home.
The fees include transport, food, site fees and all entertainment. There are food stalls on site so do bring some spending money for those.
