Bamboo Room Hall, 21 South J Street, Lake Worth, FL, 33460, United States.

Common Ground Community Development presents the Summer Jazz Series at the Iconic Bamboo Room. Every Thursday starting June 8th, 2017- August 31st, 2017 from 6:45-9pm . The Summer Jazz Series is one of our fundraisers to benefit our Bring Back the Music initiative. We would like to invite you to join us in empowering, restoring, and uniting the community through the arts and social entrepreneurship.

Bring Back The Music is a cultural multi-media and performance art initiative to archive, preserve, and expand upon the historical legacy of the iconic Bamboo Room. Prior to its closing, the Bamboo Room served as the City of Lake Worth’s famed live Blues and Cocktail Lounge. As the new tenants, we will repurpose the venue as a vehicle for emerging artists, and prominent destination for renowned Jazz, Blues, and Musical performances. The aim is to maximize the facility’s potential for sustainability by offering music lessons, community events, art deco tours to highlight its rich heritage, and multisensory experiences for community engagement and enrichment through the arts.

Common Ground Community Development is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization dedicated to engaging and enriching the community through the arts. Our programs include our educational program Creative Arts Academy, 21 Artists Residency, and our community space-Common Grounds Coffee Bar. Our objectives are to develop meaningful programming that:

  • connects people to the arts and community building by providing a space for instruction and collaboration

  • imparts coping strategies for those in recovery

  • improves artistic and entrepreneurial skills

  • enhances individual’s self-worth and

  • creates a sense of acceptance and belonging

This summer, we have launched our fundraising campaigns and we need your help. Our goal is to raise $200,000 in matching funds. You can help by becoming a sponsor of our fundraisers. Your financial or in-kind donation helps to sustain our mission to providing a safe space for individuals to be empowered, restored, and unified through the arts and social entrepreneurism in the City of Lake Worth, Florida.
