GOAL: To gain an understanding of autism spectrum disorder and common positive and negative impacts on communication and social interaction.

 OBJECTIVES FOR PARTICIPANTS:

·       Gain knowledge of autism spectrum disorder.

·       Identify common strengths and challenges with communication and social interaction.

·       Provide attendees with the tools necessary to assist the client, family members/parents, and educators to promote the growth of the individual who is on the autism spectrum.

·       Establish strategies for effective communication and social interaction, capitalizing on the strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum, utilizing various methods of communication.
