You are invited to the Society of Hospital Medicine Maryland Chapter Fall Meeting, RIV Competition/Awards, and Job Fair.
LOCATION: Waterfront Kitchen (1417 Thames Street, Baltimore, MD 21231)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30 pm.
Cocktail Hour at 6:30 pm; Presentations and Dinner start at 7:30pm.
Parking will be provided in a lot adjacent to the restaurant.

1. Annual Research, Innovation, and Clinical Vignettes (RIV) Poster Competition: This competition is open to all hospitalists. The winner will have his/her poster accepted at the national RIV competition at Hospital Medicine 2018 (HM18), April 8-11, 2018 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida!
Please send me your abstracts by Friday, October 6th to marylandshm@gmail.com in order to be considered for the competition. We will notify the finalists by Monday, October 9. Finalists will be asked to present either an oral or poster presentation during our Chapter dinner on October 18th.
2. Hospitalist of the Year Awards. The three categories are: 1) Physician of the year; 2) Non-Physician Clinician (e.g., NP/PA/PharmD/nurse) of the year; and 3) Affiliate (e.g., PT/OT/SW/CM/administrator) of the year.
If you would like to recognize someone with a hospitalist of the year award, please send an email to marylandshm@gmail.com with your choice and let us know why you think they are an excellent hospitalist. All nominations are due by Friday, October 6th and the awards will be given out at our meeting.
3. Job Fair: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. If you are a program director or have job listings you would like posted on the website www.marylandshm.com, please e-mail them to marylandshm@gmail.com. We will also be setting up a table for any handouts you may want to provide on your programs. Please bring your materials to the meeting or provide us with your materials by Friday, October 13th. For those of you looking for jobs, we encourage you to bring updated copies of your CV and contact info to the meeting.
