SCC Riordan Mansion Day Trip

Saturday, June 9, 2018

Get out of the heat and let's head to Flagstaff to tour the Riordan Mansion on Saturday June 9. Built in 1904 for the two Riordan brothers, the Mansion is an impressive reminder of gracious living in a small territorial logging town. The historic building is an Arizona treasure and is a remarkable example of Arts and Crafts style architecture featuring a rustic exterior of log-slab siding, volcanic arches, and hand split wooden shingles. It has over 40 rooms and is @13,000 square feet. The residence was designed by the creator of the Grand Canyon's El Tovar Hotel, Charles Whittlesey. 

We will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the McDonalds parking lot on the north side of Carefree Highway, just east of I-17  We are limited to a group of 30 (2 groups of 15), and our tour time is 11:00 a.m. The tour costs $8 per person and please bring cash. After the one hour tour, we will have lunch at the Horsemen's Lodge Steakhouse in Flagstaff at approximately 12:30 p.m.  After lunch, you are free to return home at your leisure.
