A two day course that provides attendees with the practical tools and skills to introduce music into their practice in order to address the social and emotional challenges faced by their clients or students. No previous music skills are required.

FUN & EMPOWERING
The R2R model is used by counsellors and educators around the world working in diverse fields including trauma, mental health,
behavioural education, custodial facilities, child protection and refugee integration.

PRACTICAL & ENGAGING
The exercises are fun, engaging and practical and require no prior musical experience. This work is strongly evidence based and client focused with an emphasis on empowerment.

COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCES
It includes over 120 new exercises and rhythm games for both counselling and education settings and can be adapted for individual, family and larger group work.

DAY ONE – 9am – 4.30pm

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER
Simon Faulkner is an experienced therapist, specialising in rhythmic based interventions, who continues to practice in a wide range of clinical settings. He is the author of the multi-award winning Holyoake DRUMBEAT program and its adapted formats, including the computer game DRUMBEAT Quest. Simon authored the book ‘The drum as a healing tool in therapy’ and has contributed to numerous research articles and other publications on the therapeutic application of rhythmic music. He is a sought after presenter at conferences worldwide and maintains a strong passion for advocacy on the part of the marginalised in society.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations up to 7 days prior to training will receive a full refund, minus a $25 administration fee. There are no refunds for cancellations made after April 30, 2018, but tickets can be transferred to another attendee.  

Rufus Glassco is a Drum Circle Facilitator and a health and wellness drummer based out of Toronto, Ontario. He facilitates many health and wellness drum circles throughout the year, and is a trained HealthRHYTHMS, Drumbeat and Rhythm2Recovery facilitator. He works with children and older adults, with people recovering from cancer and mental illness, and facilitates corporate wellness, resiliency and communications workshops.
