Love and self-love is an act of self-preservation and political warfare against a system and society that deems us as "not good enough." In order to move away from the surface level ideals that we carry about love, we must radicalize and revolutionize the notion of love and what that love looks like in action. The Asian American & Pacific Islander community must embrace this revolutionary love in order to promote the collective liberation of all people and to see our deeply connected roots of resistance.
This conference is hosted and organized by the Cross Cultural Center (CCC) at UC Davis for Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI). AAPIICON is a one-day conference with workshops, panels, and community dialogues for folks to highlight and discuss issues within the AAPI community. It also aims to create and develop a critical consciousness in the community and among its members.
AAPIICON will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Student Community Center (SCC) on the UC Davis campus. The theme is "Revolutionary Love".
Registration will be open until Saturday, April 8, 2017 @ 11:59 PM and will cost $10 (fee waivers available!). You can pay by check or at the door (see checkout for more info). We encourage everyone to register- you do not have to be a UC Davis student to attend!
