Plantation River Tour & Historic Georgetown

Explore the historic Waccamaw River and plantations of Georgetown by both water and foot! Along your river tour you will see rice plantations, trunk gates, moss laden oak trees as well as local wildlife such as alligators, eagles, osprey and much more. Your guide will be a local historian entertaining and educating you on the history, mysteries and legends of the rice plantations of the Low Country. Experience the history of the oldest English city in the state come alive before your eyes. You will stroll through the city's historic district full of preserved buildings that can date back as far as the Victorian Era, which are now home to many charming boutiques and restaurants. During your tour, you will visit the Kaminsky House, which is more representative of the Georgian style of architecture than any of the other 60 plus antebellum homes in Georgetown. Finally, you will stop at the Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church, one of the few original churches in South Carolina dating back to the Colonial Period, and is still actively used today. This tour shows you the rich history of Georgetown while also displaying the town's modern day beauty!
