We invite you to be trained and equipped in the groundbreaking work of

Bridges Out of Poverty and its ongoing impact in our region

Bridges Out of Poverty workshops offer employers, community and government organizations, social service agencies, businesses and individuals powerful tools for change.  Based on Dr. Ruby Payne’s A Framework for Understanding Poverty, Bridges workshops provide proven ideas that will improve job retention rates, build resources, improve outcomes, and support those who are moving from poverty to sustainability.

This workshop will:

  • Explore poverty, its causes, hidden rules and impact
  • Identify resources and strengths
  • Develop an action plan to improve services
  • Bring people from all sectors together to view poverty through a new lens
  • Build skill sets for management to help guide employees and increase retention
  • Improve treatment outcomes
  • Provide insights into the challenges and strengths of those who live in poverty
  • Introduce strategies for changing program designs, policies and procedures to improve outcomes

Have you ever had clients/employees/customers who…Frequently show up late or don’t show up at all for appointments?   Have difficulty communicating their needs?  Often treat your agency/organization’s employees with disrespect, suspicion, and/or disdain?  Don’t seem to care about next week, next month or their long term future?  Appear to engage in discussions that “just don’t make sense”?  The Bridges Out of Poverty Workshop will provide information that will improve interactions with those in poverty, optimize outcomes and reduce stress for the people with whom you work.

This workshop is for:

  • Individuals and volunteers
  • Business leaders and managers
  • Government policy makers and managers
  • Law enforcement
  • Education and health care professionals
  • Faith based organizations, pastors and faith leaders
  • Social service agency leaders and staff
  • Community leaders, associations and clubs
  • Employers
  • Anyone interested in poverty reduction

Bridges Out of Poverty 2-Day Intensive Training is facilitated by a multi-faceted team of experts from a variety of organizations and backgrounds.  All are nationally certified Bridges Out of Poverty facilitators.
