Nancy Appel
Nancy Appel, director of development for the Coastal Conservation League, joined the organization in 2014 after moving to Charleston from Minnesota. Nancy has nearly 20 years of fundraising experience, including with The Trust for Public Land, the Hazelden Foundation, Maryland Historical Society, and YMCA of Central Maryland. She enjoys birding, reading, golfing and spending time with her husband and three cats.
Terry Stanley
Terry Stanley joined MUSC in 1994 and currently serves as Associate Dean for Development, MUSC College of Medicine. As the College’s chief development officer, coordinates all fundraising programs, eight development directors and their fundraising team. Programs include Children’s Hospital, Hollings Cancer Center and Storm Eye Institute. Terry earned his BS in Business Administration, College of Charleston, 1977.
Kerri Forrest
Kerri Forrest is the Director of the Lowcountry Region for the Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation. A Charleston native, Kerri returned to the Holy City in 2010 after a 16-year career covering politics with national broadcast outlets MSNBC, NBC NEWS and CBS NEWS. For four years, she was the Director of Institutional Advancement with the American College of the Building Arts where she was responsible for all fundraising, marketing and alumni relations for the College as well as creating community partnerships. She is involved in numerous nonprofits in the region such as Friends of the Lowcountry Lowline, TEDxCharleston, the SC Arts Commission Leo Twigg Scholars, YWCA Greater Charleston and the One Region Executive Committee.
Kerri graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in 1994, a Masters of Arts in Interactive Journalism from American University in 2001, became a DLI Riley Fellow in 2013 and is a member of the Liberty Fellowship Class of 2018.
Courtenay Fain
Courtenay began her fundraising career in 2007 when she joined Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina as their Director of Development. From that strong foundation she went on to lead legacy giving efforts at Porter-Gaud School, and later led the annual fund for Charleston Promise Neighborhood. She now counsels independent schools and community-based organizations as a lead consultant for the Winkler Group, a capital campaign consulting firm.
Courtenay is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Charleston and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.
