National Aftercare Policy, Guidance & Legislation Briefing

The Childcare (Amendment) Act 2015 commenced 1st September 2017. The introduction of the new legislation will strengthen the legislative basis for Aftercare Services. This has brought changes to Tusla policy in relation to our Aftercare Service which was widely consulted on.

Aftercare workers, ALL Tusla staff, foster carers and partner providers working with young people (who are preparing the transition to adult life) NEED to be aware of these changes. usla now requires all staff and relevent stakeholders to attend the briefing titled; 'New Aftercare Policy, Guidance and Legislation', which are being delivered across all Regions and Areas.

You are invited to attend one of these 'National Information Briefing' events, as part of a wider communication strategy to (i) ensure there is broad awareness of these changes, and (ii) to implement into practice consistently across the country.’
