What is an Earth Medicine Lodge?

…A prayer ceremony used for purification and healing. The Lodge itself represents the womb of Mother Earth. We enter into the Lodge and offer our prayers and set our intentions with Spirit. As we leave the Lodge, we are being reborn into the new life we choose to create for ourselves. Most people experience a shift either from the release of prayers or simply by the re-unification to Mother Earth. Although the intention of each lodge can be different, the sacred space created by the darkness and the heat always allows for Spirit to whisper into the ears of those present.

Similar ceremonies have been done around the world for eons by the cultures who are connected to the Earth and the healing she brings. This Lodge does not follow any one particular tradition but offers that follow many indigenous traditions from around the world. This is not a traditional Native American Ceremony.

*****************************

The FireKeepers will light the Fire at 1:00 pm and the Ceremony will begin around 3:00 pm. We will begin by dressing the Lodge and join with the energy of the community.
Dress is modest and tradition asks that both men and women wear a T-shirt and skirt (or sarong) to honor the Elders. A change of clothes for after the Lodge is a good idea.
We will share a pot luck community meal after the Lodge in order to ground the energy and have fellowship after the ceremonies.
Please bring:
A blanket or mat to sit on
A towel
Water
Change of clothes for after the Lodge
A dish to share for the meal
Chairs to sit in before and after the Lodge

There is never a charge for Ceremony, however, there are expenses to be covered to be able to continue to offer this way to pray. All monetary donations will be used for the ongoing work of Otter Dance, and is always received with Much Gratitude and Many Blessings!

Please don't let money keep you from coming to ceremony, there is always work that needs to be done and an exchange can be arranged. You can talk with Robbie or Brandy about what might needs to be done. You should plan to do your work exchange before you come for ceremony.
