Half-day workshop on Wed. April 25. Cybersecurity incidents around the world have put nation-states on alert. In the U.S., Trump’s executive order has directed federal agencies to follow risk assessment standards established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) at their core. Now, public entities have the enormous task of ensuring that they are staying up to date and meeting these security industry standards. This workshop will help organizations navigate these new compliance mandates and share how the Splunk platform and Qmulos can be leveraged to support the Cybersecurity Framework. How can organizations appropriately build and maintain a cybersecurity program with limited budget and resources? This workshop will explore strategies toward developing a robust cybersecurity program with limited resources. An introduction to Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and hands-on BGP exercises using Cisco and Juniper followed by a deeper dive featuring hands-on instructor-led BGP exercises. Cyber Threat Response Clinic Partial Approval - $300.00

Full day hands-on workshop. In this hands-on workshop security and network professionals will experience a full day in the life of a malware attack and how to respond to it. It will also cover steps you can take before a breach to minimize attacks. In this workshop session you will: Explore Cisco’s threat-centric approach to security that provides unmatched visibility, consistent control, and advanced threat protection. Perform live policy and attack responses that illustrate solutions to real-world problems. Strategic Planning with E-Rate for the Library of the Future Partial Approval -$250.00

Taking time to think through important processes and strategies related to the technology needed by each library is essential. All libraries are as unique as the patrons and communities they serve. How those libraries plan for E-rate effects a lot in the day-to-day operations of any library. In this session, we’ll cover basic questions about the E-rate process, discuss big picture strategy for libraries in general looking to utilize E-rate to meet goals (including a review of some strategies for background research of current trends in rates for services), take a look at what is going on at the FCC, and tackle unique problems Libraries face in serving their patrons and communities through E-rate. Part 2 of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) workshop builds on the introductory training provided in BGP 101 workshop and features a deeper dive into advanced configuration with hands on exercises and additional instructor led training. Can be taken individually or combined with BGP 101 for a full day workshop. Registration includes complimentary conference registration to all April 4 Sessions, Breakfast, Lunch and the Tuesday Evening Reception and admission to half-day April 5 Training Workshop, Breakfast and Lunch.

IPv6 Training Workshop Partial Approval - $300.00

This customized workshop will provide attendees with the foundation for the silver IPv6 certification exam at the end of the course. IPv6 instruction topics include, but are not limited to the following: Addressing, Architecture, Capabilities, Configuration, Features, Header Translation, Integration, Migration Planning, Packet Generation, QoS, Routing, Security, Specification, Transition Mechanisms, Troubleshooting, and Tunneling. This coursework is approved and certified by the IPv6 Forum.
