Central Pierce Fire & Rescue will be offering babysitting classes. This one day course, Safe Sitter®, is a medically accurate program that teaches adolescents ages 11 to 13 years how to handle emergencies when caring for a child. The class teaches safe and nurturing child care techniques, behavior management skills, and appropriate responses to medical emergencies.

Students will learn:
* How to administer CPR to infants and children.
* What to do if the child gets a bloody nose.
* What to say if 911 has to be called.
* How to screen babysitting jobs to decide whether to accept or refuse.
* How to change a diaper.


Please bring a lunch and a drink as this is a full day class. The two forms listed below must be completed and brought to class.


Please arrive at 0830 hrs as class will begin at 0900 hrs. Safe Sitter® teaches these skills and much more! Students who successfully complete the class will receive a Safe Sitter Manual® and a completion card.

We offer NO REFUNDS once scheduled for a class.

 

We are more than happy to move you to another class if you cannot make the one you're already registered for provided you make this request by phone one week prior to your registered class.  This will allow us time to fill your seat as the class has a minimum as well as a maximum size limit.
