The Union Cemetery Historical Society, in partnership with Kansas City, MO Parks and Recreation, proudly presents its Fall marquee event.
"Historical Epitaphs, Voices from the Past" is a theatrically enhanced guided evening tour of Kansas City's oldest public burial ground, Union Cemetery.
As you're guided through the tombstones, visitors enjoy in-depth story telling by some of KC's best local actors portraying some of Kansas City's most unforgettable citizens, buried right at your feet!A dinner served by one of Kansas City's finest restaurants caps off the evening.
* * * We recommend that guests bring their own flashlights, dress for the weather, and to arrive ahead of their scheduled tour time. Street parking is available on the West side of the Cemetery entrance (near Warwick Tfwy & E. 28th Terrace), but we encourage those that are able to walk, bike, or ride public transportation.
Founded in 1984, the mission of the UCHS is to develop and protect the records of Union Cemetery and to help the Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Dept preserve and protect Union Cemetery for future generations.
