Event Details
This workshop will provide information to school staff, teachers and administrators about how to incorporate more “green and healthy” initiatives into our schools specifically in school wellness & movement. According to the CDC, students who are physically active tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance, and class-room behaviors. In this workshop, Green & Healthy Schools will share ways to incorporate more movement and wellness in our day to day routines at schools and strategies for helping students become more active and better learners. Return from this workshop ready to implement more physical activity throughout the day that will boost academic performance without disrupting the current school schedule. Participants will be given work time to develop ideas and plan for implementation.
Teams of up to four from a school or district are encouraged to attend. The schools of attending Meemic Foundation Club Members will receive $100 per participant (up to 4 per school) as a stipend to support substitute fees for attending or to put towards their sustainability project at school. To qualify for this stipend, participants must be a validated Foundation Club member prior to the event. Sign up today for a FREE Meemic Foundation Club membership at MeemicFoundation.org/Register
