This workshop is offered to professionals interested in learning basic DBT skills that can be applied in a clinical setting to individuals, couples and families. The goal of DBT is the achievement of a better quality of life rather than the prevention of crises. “Practical Application of DBT Skills in Clinical Settings” will provide theoretical fundamentals and practical application of individual DBT skills to help clients develop resiliency, manage their emotions and improve the relationship within themselves and others for a healthier lifestyle. 

 

Course Objectives

     Learn the fundamental DBT principles and understand the 4 Modules of DBT Skills training: Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance and Emotion Regulation

     Adapt DBT skills for your practice needs and improve your clients' treatment goals across a wide spectrum of behavioral health conditions

     Provide successful logging methods and homework exercises adapted to your clients’ needs

     Develop a DBT toolbox with key concepts to help clients with daily stressors and interpersonal relationships

     Acquire DBT skills through practical exercises and case studies

Course Presenter

  •        Ewelina Beardmore is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who uses a relational and strength-based model to help clients gain awareness of the roles and dynamics present in their relationships. Through her work in community mental health centers, Ewelina has furthered her training in DBT skills and gained expertise in helping individuals heal from trauma. Her unique international background has enhanced her cultural awareness and sensitivity in her clinical work.
