Come with us to beautiful Havana, Cuba! Join Art Museum Executive Director Kendall Smith and Programs and Events Manager Katie Ribant on January 10-14, 2019 as we explore the uniquely preserved culture and flourishing art scene in Cuba. We will stay in the heart of the charming Old Havana district at the Mercure Sevilla Hotel and enjoy local Cuban cuisine dining at family-owned restaurants. Attractions include visiting several artist studios, museums, and community projects, sightseeing along the sea wall in 1950's cars, a tour of Ernest Hemingway's estate, and much more. While the itinerary is packed with engaging activities, guests will also get to customize their experience by choosing a half-day immersive art tour and be given time to explore the wonders of Havana on their own. We'll get away from the city for a day-trip excursion to the picturesque, rural villages of Las Terrazas and Soroa, where guests can visit a local artisan center and stroll along the banks of the San Vincente River. In Soroa, we will conclude our trip by visiting Orquideario Soroa, a collection of around 700 orchid species, and Salto de Arco Iris, the waterfall pictured below.
