Want to get a leg up on your audition?  Or be coached by some of the best in the business?  Join director Neil Dale and choreographer Jill Gorrie on October 14th to learn choreography in the style of the show plus get coaching & feedback on your song!  

 

Whether you're preparing for the upcoming audition or just looking to expand your professional audition skills, this workshop will be an extraordinary experience to be trained by experts in the field.   

 

 

OCTOBER 14th  11am-2:30pm  ADULTS & YOUNG ADULTS (age 14 and up)

**This workshop is primarily designed for Adults. Teens are welcome but will be expected to conduct themselves professionally.

ABOUT NEIL DALE 

Neil began acting at the early age of 10 and has continued his professional career to date. He was born in Liverpool, England and moved to San Diego in 2007 after meeting his beautiful wife Jennifer in the Cameron Macintosh production of Miss Saigon. His professional theatre credits include Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Starlight Express, The Buddy Holly Story, Man Of La Mancha, Evita, Godspell, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Full Monty, My Fair Lady, Fiddler On the Roof, Cats, Billy Elliot, Joseph and a world premiere production of Oz an American Fairy Tale, to name a few. 

 

Neil’s directorial credits include an award-winning production of Miss Saigon, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Sweet Charity, The King And I, Crazy For You, Billy Elliot and most recently SDMT’s production of The Full Monty. 

 

For the past year Neil has been a part of one of the fastest growing nonprofit theatre companies in San Diego, San Diego Music Theatre. San Diego has been his home now for over 10 years and he feels very blessed be part of such a vibrant theatre community.

 

 

ABOUT JILL GORRIE 

Jill Gorrie is an international choreographer, director and teaching artist. Her choreography credits include: 42nd Street, Damn Yankees, Singin’ in the Rain(San Diego Musical Theatre), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Intrepid Shakespeare Company), Gary Goldfarb: Master Escapist (New York Musical Theatre Festival), Romance Romance, Humbug Holiday Spectacular, Tomfoolery, and Man With A Load of Mischief (North Coast Repertory Theatre),Aida, Hairspray and Singin’ in the Rain (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina), Gotta Get A Gimmick-Burlesque to Broadway (BB King's NYC), The People Vs. Mona (Off- Broadway), Oklahoma and Hello Dolly (Westchester Broadway Theatre), A Little Night Music, Pal Joey and I Love A Piano (SDSU).

 

As a performer, Jill has danced at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The St. James Theatre on Broadway, numerous regional theaters throughout the country, on Broadway, national tours, and across Europe as the dance captain of the musical Grease. As resident director/choreographer, Jill works with the international tour of Grease, an ongoing production with which she has been affiliated for over 15 years. She has had the honor of restaging Grease productions in cities such as Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Istanbul, and Byblos, Lebanon.  

 

Jill is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts (B.F.A. in Dance), and received her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University. Her early training was with Barbara Mullen at the Londonderry Dance Academy and at the Charlotte Klein Dance Centers in Worcester Massachusetts. As a teen-ager, Jill spent summers at the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive and had the honor of

studying with historical jazz dance masters, Gus Giordano, Matt Mattox, Luigi, and many of their protégés. Jill’s diverse teaching career spans The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), CAP21, New York University, San Diego State University, Mesa College, Shenandoah Conservatory, The American Academy of Ballet, Academie Danza (Modena, Italy), Hochschule fur Musik und Theatre (Munich, Germany) and The South African Society for the Advancement of Dancing (Johannesburg). 

 

Jill has served as an adjudicator, and guest teacher for dance organizations, competitions, conventions, theatre schools and private dance studios worldwide, having students go on to succeed in all aspects of the performance industry.

Cancellation policy

48 hours cancellation. No refund.  Class credit will be offered for future classes, workshops, and/or intensives to be used within 6 months.
