The focus of this course will be to give basic background on Criminal and Civil Records, how to read a RAP sheet, the ins and outs of MBIS, how to utilize LiveScan and the Secure Document Delivery System (SDDS), and the differences between Record Challenges, Petitions to Seal, Factual Innocence and WIN.

The Identification Unit of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) supports law enforcement agencies as well as the public. It is the responsibility of this unit to maintain and update all information stored in the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), used in the identification of fingerprints, and the Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC), which houses all fingerprint based Colorado Criminal History Record Information (CCHRI) records. Colorado is an open records state and this information is available to the public.
