Advanced White Water Safety and Rescue Training (AWWSR)

The Advanced White Water Safety and Rescue Training course is specifically designed around the needs of white water paddlers.

Becoming a Provider

Coaches wishing to become an AWWSR Provider are required to complete a provider logbook. This is open to updated coaches with one of the following qualifications:

  • Level 5 Inland Kayak or Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport (White Water) with Advanced White Water Leader
  • Registered WWSR provider (have delivered a minimum of three courses in the last three years)

The logbook process requires the aspirant provider to attend a two day orientation event. You will be required to provide evidence of current skills in applications of rope work in steep and difficult ground. An individual action plan will be agreed at the end of the orientation (This training may be via a specific provider orientation, or alternatively by shadowing an AWWSR Trainer running a course).

On completion of the above tasks, the logbook should be returned to the Home Nation for verification and registration as an AWWSR Provider.
