Academic orientation visit is a unique program at Discovery Academy of Science. Our goal is to help our parents and students to benefit our school and resources the most. This is an extra service provided only at Discovery Academy of Science, where our academic team travel an extra mile for our parents and students. Last year more than 20 homes visited by our academic team. Each visit approximately took 30 minutes in a friendly ambiance. During the visit, our academic team answers your questions and address concerns furthermore can assist you on effective uses of AR, MyOn, DASconnect and other online resources. Once you place a request here, our academic team will contact you to schedule a visit.
Description: Students will learn different types of creative writing strategies. We will share our writing and do small art projects that go with our writing. Hopefully we could present our writing to other clubs and staff members as well.
In Lego Club students will be able to work on problem solving skills, use their creativity, and work together using Legos. Students will build vehicles, buildings, and many other structures while collaborating with others. Lego Club members will also get to put their skills to use while participating in club challenges.
To teach students sign language and about deaf culture.

Theatre Club is a process-oriented afterschool drama club in which students rehearse and perform a scripted play.

These future gardeners will “BEE” introduced to gardening, conservation, plant biology, protection of wildlife, recognition of plants and trees and a love of nature. Come grow with us!
In the Butterfly Gardening Club, students will create and maintain a functioning butterfly garden. Students will be able to watch the life cycle of butterflies first hand while also learning about other insects. We will also learn about how butterflies and other insects impact the environment around them.
Many athletes from football players to fencers cross-train in ballet to increase finesse, speed, balance, flexibility, mental focus, and strength. This club is for anyone who wants to improve their athletic skill through dance, with no experience necessary. All that is needed are athletic clothes that will let you move comfortably and a good attitude. We’ll dance in socks or barefoot, as needed.
At this club, students will be active as they participate in a variety of jump-roping activities. Students will practice different types of jump-roping movements and will also be able to design their own jump-rope routines.
Students will measure averages of running times, show them in the graph and do experiments after taking a run.
This is the waiting list for all clubs. Please specify each club that you want to register in while filling out application.

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! Discovery Academy of Science offers multiple clubs on each day except Friday. Please be mindful to that all club placements is on a first come first serve basis and up 20 students per club. If a club is full before you get to register, you can still sign in the waiting list. If there is an opening for that club, placements will be made from the first waiting student on the waiting list. Parents of those will be notified via email.
After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation e mail. Please retain the confirmation email until receiving your student’s club schedule from Mr. Duman within the first week of the school. Clubs will start on Monday, Aug 22nd, 2016.
