The Danish String Quartet has reached incredible heights is the course of its ten years of existence. In January 2012 the quartet was appointed to the prestigious Chamber Music Society of the Lincoln Center Two program beginning with the 2013-14 season. In 2009 the quartet not only won first prize in the Eleventh London International String Quartet Competition, but its performance was so convincing that it was awarded four additional prizes: The 20th Century Prize, The Beethoven Prize, the Sidney Griller Award, and the Menton Festival Prize. In 2006 the quartet recorded all of Carl Nielsen’s String Quartets in the Danish Radio Concert Hall. In 2012 the quartet released a highly successful recording of works by Bartok and Beethoven. Their tours have taken them to many important venues in Europe and North America, including a series of well-received concerts in London’s Wigmore Hall. In 2011 the quartet was awarded the Carl Nielsen Prize, Denmark’s most prestigious cultural honor.

The MCMS concerts are enjoyed in an intimate setting and thus allow you to become more immersed in the music. Each event typically lasts about 2 hours.
