The Vail Mountaineer Hockey Club is thrilled to announce our inaugural Pucks, Pars, and Poker event scheduled for September 14-16, 2018. Casino Night kicks everything off at 6 pm on Friday, giving locals and visitors alike, the chance to rub elbows with some of Colorado’s most beloved professional hockey players. During the day on Saturday, both children and adults will get the chance to skate with the pros at 3 hockey clinics run by the Avalanche Alumni and some of Vail Mountaineers best coaches. That night, we’ll get to watch them in action as they play an exciting game against our own semi-pro team…the Vail Yeti, and Sunday will close everything out with a day of scenic mountain-style golf at the Vail Golf Club.
As a non-profit, The Vail Mountaineer Hockey Club relies on the generosity of sponsors and individuals to provide an exceptional hockey experience for youth in the Vail Valley. Guided by “HI-FIVE”, the Mountaineer Code of Integral Leadership, we emphasize character development through Core Values of Heart, Initiative, Fun, Integrity, Vulnerability, and Enthusiasm. We are dedicated to instilling traits of fair play, respect, and sportsmanship, in both our recreational and competitive athletes, and strive to cultivate individual potential in a safe and healthy environment. Through this weekend, as well as the club’s annual Sportsmanship Tournament that takes place each fall, we are able to directly offset program fees for nearly 200 local families, while providing critical funding for the club’s scholarship and outreach programs.
