The Lysander Piano Trio, a winner of the 2012 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, has been praised by the “Strad” for its “incredible ensemble, passionate playing, articulate and imaginative ideas and a wide palette of colors.” These qualities have made the trio a standout at other competitions, with top honors at the 2010 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the 2011 Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition. The Trio’s 2014 debut recording “After a Dream” features music by Ravel, Haydn, Schubert, Joaquin Turina, and Moshe Zorman. The Lysander Piano Trio is active in commissioning new works and creates programs that mix the music of today with well-loved masterworks. The Trio made their Carnegie Hall debut in 2014. Other recent notable appearances include Alice Tully Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, and UCLA’s Clark memorial Library. The members of the group are Itamar Zorman, violin, Liza Stepanova, piano, and Michael Katz, cello.

The MCMS concerts are enjoyed in an intimate setting and thus allow you to become more immersed in the music. Each event typically lasts about 2 hours.
