The Navy League of the United States Minnesota Council is proud to host the U.S. Navy’s official 243rd Birthday Ball. The ball will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, Bloomington, MN on October 13, 2018.
Since 1972, each CNO has encouraged a Navy-wide birthday celebration to enhance a greater appreciation of our Navy heritage, and to provide a positive influence toward pride and professionalism in the naval service. The Navy League is honored to host this celebration of the Navy’s birthday in Minnesota. Please join us as we honor 243 years of service to our country through this year’s theme, “Forged by The Sea.”
Our guest speaker for the evening will be Rear Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Operations, Plans and Strategy (N3/N5B). His full bio may be viewed here.
Attire
Officers: Mess Dress, Enlisted Dress
Civilians and other guests: Black Tie Optional and Cocktail Dresses
Dinner
Every attendee will be asked to select their dinner choice during registration. All meals include Fresh Baked Breads, Salad, complimentary Brewed Regular and Decaf Coffee, choice of Herbal Teas and Navy Ball Birthday cake.
Main course choices include:
- Bourbon Pork Cutlet- Roasted Pork Tenderloin with a Bourbon Glazed Reduction served with Broccolini and Garlic mashed potatoes
- Beef Pot Roast – Slow cooked and topped with Pan Gravy, Honey Glazed Carrots, garlic mashed potatoes
- Herb Roasted Chicken- Chicken Breast in Au Jus Lie, served with Asparagus and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes
- Vegetarian Option: Penne Pasta Primavera- Penne tossed with Roasted Vegetables, Garlic, Herbs, and Alfredo Sauce, topped with Fresh Grated Parmesan Cheese
