The block of rooms we had contracted at the Springhill Suites by Marriott for the SD Wing/ NCR Conference, was sold out.  The contracted rate was only good for a specific number of rooms that we guaranteed that we would fill.  We were able to rectify the situation by re-negotiating the contract today.

We have 20 more rooms added to the block – but you only have until March 21 to make the reservations.

At Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort

5 @ $99.00 plus taxes

5 @ $109.00 plus taxes

At SpringHIll Suites by Marriott

 10 additional rooms @ $119.00 plus taxes

Please call the hotel at 605-571-2203 and ask for Kelli Nold, Monday through Friday she is out of the office on Saturday and Sunday.  You can leave a voice mail and she will call you back on Monday to make a reservation if necessary.

We wanted our cadets that needed rooms to be staying in the Springhill Suites.  If they’re in the Cadillac Jack’s, they need to walk through the casino to get to the meeting rooms.

If you don’t call in time, and all the rooms are gone, there are still several hotel rooms left in Deadwood, and there is a scheduled trolley that joins all the major hotels.  On the weekends, the trolley starts at 0800, and runs either hourly, or every 30 minutes, or every 20 minutes, depending on the time of day.  Here’s a link to the trolley info: http://www.cityofdeadwood.com/index.asp?SEC=407CFDAA-63DD-4B39-989D-FD81677F2441&Type=B_BASIC

Some of the recommendations for hotels if you can’t get into the Cadillac Jacks or Spring Hill Suites listed by shortest walking distance to the Springhill.

  • First Gold Hotel
  • Hampton Inn Deadwood at Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort (The Hampton has free parking!)
  • Mineral Palace
  • Celebrity Hotel
  • Historic Bullock Hotel

The last one on the list, is 0.7 miles from the Spring Hill, about a 15-minute walk.

There are many more hotels, and I recommend looking at these websites to find what you want:

And consider these too:

We apologize for the snafu with the hotel.  We had a contract with this hotel before we knew that the NCR Conference was going to be held in conjunction with the SD Wing Conference.    Please don’t delay any longer in registering for your hotel, or for the conference.    Here’s the link to register for the conference.  Remember to register for the conference, the banquet, and any of the free pre- or post-conference classes you’d like to attend, too.  http://events.eventzilla.net/e/2018-south-dakota-wing-and-north-central-region-conference--2138941677

Q:  Where will we stay?

A:  You have the choice of two hotels.  (They are under the same management and are connected). All cadets should plan to stay at the SpringHill Suites so they can avoid walking through the casino.  (if it is unavoidable, there is a breezeway between the hotels.)
